Was just talking with a buddy who's daughter turned 15 and started the process for getting her learner's permit. Honestly, that's a conversation I could've done without. He said that the parents can do the hands-on part of it and the "classroom" part is all online. I have no idea if that's true or not but it goes a long ways toward explaining why the driving public around here seems like such a menace.
Well...guess I can't criticize the process too much now that I think about it. Back in the day it was offered as a class in school so there's that. The actual time behind the wheel was an entirely different story though. Basically all it consisted of was was taking the car out and cruising the dirt roads that ran alongside the pipelines in the area so the coach could scout out prime locations to go deer hunting.
How times have changed, 'eh?
